Weekly Meal Service Agreement

Ordering Correspondence

The Rooted Anchor provides weekly DINNER meals only. For quality control purposes, The Rooted Anchor asks that the client/chef correspondence be in writing via email. Invoices are sent from The Rooted Anchor via email and the full invoice is due upon receipt, no later than the Friday before service date. Proposals are to be confirmed at least 2 weeks prior to your service date. Failure to do so will be considered a last-minute cancellation (see cancellation fees below). Menu planning, prep, cooking, correspondence, travel fees and the sourcing of ingredients are included in the client’s quoted rate. All menu items are subject to change due to ingrediefnt availability, quality, or other unforeseeable factors. The Rooted Anchor sources organic ingredients first, then local/sustainable from trusted sources. In some cases, it is necessary to supplement ingredients from your neighborhood grocery stores, specialty food stores, and farmers markets. Depending on how many meals per week are ordered, Chef Alex provides 2-4 meal options with the option of leftovers (e.g., 4 nights that include 2 different meal options: 2 nights of one dish, and 2 nights of another).

Please inform your chef if you have specific dietary restrictions or preferences.

Scheduling

All weekly meals are scheduled to be on Monday afternoons. If you are in need of scheduling on a different day/and or time, accommodations can be made with advanced notice.

Cancellations

  • 14 days or more, full return.

  • 7-14 days, 50% of invoice charged.

  • 7 days or less, full cost of invoice charged.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that may require you to cancel, skip or reschedule your meals. In such cases, we are able to offer you freezer meals, pantry restock, or credit towards a private catered event. However, please note that we cannot guarantee availability for rescheduled events, and any credit provided will be at our discretion. If you have any questions or concerns about our cancelation policy, please contact us at therootedanchor@gmail.com before placing your order. We are happy to discuss our policies with you and help you make an informed decision.

Packaging

Each dish is packaged in reusable, lidded glass containers to transport, reheat with ease, and help limit packaging waste. If you (the client) have lidded, oven safe containers on hand, Chef Alex will be happy to use them or could point you in the right direction to purchase. Otherwise, containers are provided for you to keep or rent for a additional fee. If personal containers are used, they will need to be picked up or dropped off at least 24hrs prior to food preparation. All containers must be clean, dry, and free of food debris during rotation between each week. If containers are returned dirty, a cleaning fee of $25 will be added to the invoice for that week.

In Home Kitchen Prep (Option 1)

All home kitchens are subject to a site visit and approval. The approval needs to be scheduled 1 week in advance to your booking. If the kitchen is disapproved, a pick-up/drop off option will be scheduled (see Pick Up/Drop Off Option 2 below). The Rooted Anchor takes great pride in their work and promises to respect you, your home/rental and equipment. Your chef will leave her workspace as clean as she found it and remove her personal equipment. Please make sure your kitchen area is clean and ready for your chef and the sink and/or dishwasher is clear on their scheduled cook-date. If outdoor cooking equipment is needed, please make sure grills are accessible, clean, and propane tanks are full. Please make sure there is adequate space that is clean and clear in the fridge/freezer for meals to be stored. The chef will only be responsible for cleaning up the wares for the meal(s) provided. If chefs arrive to an unsuitable workspace, they will document the area with a photo(s) and a cleaning fee of $75 will be added to the invoice for that service date. If the kitchen does not meet basic health code standards (i.e. no running water, no electricity, etc…) the chef will prepare what they can, and the full rate still applies.

Chef Alex will promptly arrive at your home or rental at the agreed-upon time on the agreed-upon date(s). Chef will need full access to the cooking area for an estimated 2-5 hours. Cooking session hours are subject to change and or split up into more than one day depending on the number of meals being made. Please make your home accessible to your chef on the scheduled cook-date. If for some reason, your chef cannot access your home you will be considered a last-minute cancellation and you will forfeit the full rate. Clients, children, pets and other distractions should be out of the kitchen area on all scheduled cook-dates. We respectfully request that the client allow the chef to perform their professional services without interruption.

Pick up/Drop Off (Option 2)

All weekly meals are scheduled to be on Monday afternoons. If you are in need of scheduling on a different day/and or time, accommodations can be made with advanced notice. Pick up location and time are to be confirmed at least 24hrs prior. Delivery fees may apply.
